Understanding Stress. The Science and the Practicalities

Date: Thursday 2nd March

Time: 10.30am – 12:30pm

Location: Online

Trainer: Catriona Kirwan

Course Description:

In a stressed or fight or flight state the human brain can lose up to 75% of its cognitive abilities. This fight or flight state is an enormous drain on energy.  In a modern world where many spend hours in a stressed state, this becomes a big challenge. This interactive workshop will provide:

  1. A clear understanding of what stress is and the difference between helpful stress (eustress) and unhelpful stress (distress).
  2. An ability to recognise the signs and symptoms of chronic stress
  3. An insight into stress triggers in the work environment; what the more common triggers are and what approach can be taken to reduce these.
