Competitive Start Fund for design led start-up companies

A call for applications for design led start-up companies, using design as a strategic element will open on Wednesday 15th July 2015 and close at 3pm on Wednesday 29th July 2015. 

As part of ID2015 Enterprise Ireland is offering a new Fund for design led start-up companies. If you are a design led start-up with the potential to create jobs in Ireland and grow internationally, you can now apply to Enterprise Ireland’s Design Competitive Start Fund.

Overview of the Competitive Start Fund

The Competitive Start Fund is targeted at start up and early stage companies. The Fund will provide these young companies with the critical early stage funding to achieve the key commercial and technical milestones that will ensure delivery of their product or service and/or will get their project to a key funding milestone. 

What is the maximum funding available?

The selected companies will receive a maximum investment of ?50,000 for a 10% ordinary equity stake in the start-up company. The investment shall be released in two equal tranches. The Company will be required to secure additional equity investment of ?5,000, from promoters or external investees, prior to the release of EI's first tranche.

Late applications will not be accepted. This fund is open to applications from early stage companies who meet the eligibility criteria. All applications to the fund must be made via the Enterprise Ireland Online Application System.

Call for applications opens 15th July and closes Wednesday 29th July at 3pm.

Irish Design 2015 is a Government funded year long programme to grow employment, sales and exports for Irish design led companies, by encouraging investment in design as a key component of competitiveness and innovation and by showcasing Irish design nationally and internationally.
