Council Youth Project shows creativity alive and well in future entrepreneurs

Over 800 County Carlow Students across primary and post primary entered this year’s Student Concept Competition hosted by Carlow County Council – Local Enterprise Office in association with IT Carlow, Visual, Bank of Ireland & Carlow Regional Youth Services. The creativity and innovation of the 24 finalists was celebrated at an event attended by 150 people held in VISUAL recently. Now in its 9th Year the Student Concept Competition aims to encourage young people to consider creativity and enterprise as a future career by creating products of the future.

Speaking at the event, Kathleen Holohan, Chief Executive of Carlow County Council said “the Student Concept Competition represents an important activity in the Councils role in the development of an enterprise culture in County Carlow”. Holohan continued to say that “the creativity displayed by over 800 individuals was of an extremely high standard and showed the significant creativity and talent of young people in Carlow”.

Over 24 finalists were awarded on the night with a variety of prizes.
