 DIY PR

Public relations is key to any successful business venture and it can be crucial to small business when starting out. It is important for SME’s and sole traders to gain an understanding of how media in Ireland works. Press releases and media coverage can take the place of more expensive advertising campaigns and help create a better return on the business investment. As marketing budget is always the first object that is being cut in the periods of financial difficulty, learning how to write press publications could provide business owners with a perfect opportunity to get ahead and make the most of free press coverage.

In regards to this matter, Carlow County Council – Local Enterprise Office along with Sarah Bohan from Engage Ireland offer a DIY PR FOR SME’S AND NEW STARTUPS programme, which aims to provide a greater understanding of the media landscape in the country.

Kieran Comerford, Head of Enterprise at the Carlow County Council – Local Enterprise Office said, “The main goal of this course is to increase awareness of PR tools, help participants to create their own and consider angles that a business can utilise as well as teach how to plan personal tackles and PR campaigns within an agreed timeframe.”

Taking into account that any form of artistry requires mastering, practice, and understanding, it is vital to know how press reports should be presented to clients, as correct approach helps companies to generate their own methods and achieve the objectives for successful business and commerce.

The programme commences on 4th of May from 9:30pm to 4:30pm in Enterprise House and will be held over 4 evenings. The cost of DIY PR training programme is €50 per person.
