The entry forms for this year's St. Patrick's Day parade are now available.

This year’s parade is for Walking Groups only. No Floats/Vehicles. We regret any inconvenience but this is necessary for health & safety reasons. We hope you will continue to participate.

Here is a few guidelines for the parade:

  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Carlow Town will take place on Thursday, 17th March.
  • Theme:  “Carlow 1916-2016”.  This is optional.
  • Assembly from 2.30pm with the Parade moving off at 3.30pm.
  • Walking groups only.  Assembly in Pennys’ Carpark. A section of the car park is kindly being made available. Enter from Kilkenny Rd entrance - not Kennedy Ave.
  • Parade route:  Kennedy Ave, Barrack St, Tullow St, Burrin St, Kennedy Ave.  Finish in Pennys Carpark/Kennedy Avenue.
  • All participating groups should parade behind their banners and are asked to be colourful and festive. Brief impromptu performances along the route will be welcome.
  • Review Stand outside Teach Dolmain.  Halt briefly/salute there please.
  • All wishing to participate are requested to register asap and by Monday,14 March.
  • All groups are reminded to ensure that their insurance covers them to participate in the Parade. If not please extend the policy to ensure cover.

  • Completed registration forms may be returned by email. Alternatively may be marked ‘Parade’ and dropped in to reception desk, County Council Offices, Athy Rd, Carlow.
