Make that call for Increased Sales in 2020

County Carlow Enterprises encouraged to make that call for increased sales in 2020.

Today (24th October 2019) , Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office launched its new Sales Development Programme designed for County Carlow SME’s who have the desire to grow and develop their sales results. The innovative grant-supported sales training and coaching programme has been launched this week by Carlow Local Enterprise Office. The Sales Development Programme will offer intensive sales skills training followed by an extended period of sales performance coaching to high potential County Carlow businesses who successfully qualify. The programme will commence in November 2019 and continue through March 2020.

Carlow Local Enterprise Office has selected the expert training and coaching team from Ideation Marketing to deliver the specialist training to Business Leaders and Sales Teams from up to 8 County Carlow businesses. The Sales Development Programme will focus on embedding a process of ongoing management development and sales development in participating Carlow Business by training and coaching them to develop best practice sales skills, techniques and behaviours. The intensive programme will also create an effective sales culture within each participating business, enabling them to boost their sales and directly enhance their revenue. The programme is delivered using a combination of classroom-based training and individualised and team coaching.

Speaking at the launch in the Local Enterprise Office, Carlow, Head of Enterprise, Kieran Comerford said:

“Sales are the life-force of every business. Without an effective sales strategy which outlines what, how and to whom you will sell your products and services, a business is destined to fail - or at least fail to achieve optimal profitability. Many of our business clients do not have dedicated sales resources in their business, nor the time or budget to allocate to sales performance management, training or upskilling. This programme has been developed to fill a clear need we have identified amongst our clients. They, and we, understand that developing sales skills amongst the Entrepreneurial community in Carlow is vital if they are to achieve their full potential”.

Local Enterprise Office Carlow offers a range of complementary supports to budding entrepreneurs at the start-up stage, and high-potential businesses who are scaling and providing employment in the local community. The Office is the gateway to over 170 Governmental supports, and has an especially impressive track record when it comes to the food, tourism and industrial sectors.

“The funding, training and mentoring we offer, enables Carlow businesses to hire more people, enter new markets, expand, upskill and grow. 2019 was a positive year for Carlow businesses, and we look forward to extending that support into 2020. The Sales Development Programme is an example of the intensive, specialist services we can deliver to businesses who need them”, commented Pauline Hoctor, Senior Enterprise Officer, speaking at the launch.

Speaking about the benefits of the programme Elaine Bradley-Ryan, Managing Director of Ideation Marketing said “The Sales Development Programme offered by Carlow Local Enterprise Office, is designed to transform the businesses that participate. A robust classroom curriculum will be followed by extended coaching, to help the participants’ put what they’ve learned into practice, and encourage their personal development as well. My team and I look forward to supporting Carlow businesses in their growth strategies, and we can’t wait to get started!”.
