If you are a Food Entrepreneur and based in County Carlow , the Local Enterprise Office is looking for you to participate in a project which aims to get your business noticed.
The project involves the development of a variety of tools in partnership with Carlow Tourism, which is designed to get the message out there that Carlow has a wide variety of quality Food & Drink manufacturers.
This exciting initiative has been established as result of a funding application to Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and presents a €61,500 investment in marketing for Food Tourism enterprises for County Carlow during 2015.
The project is free of charge for businesses to participate and businesses are invited to attend a briefing session on 5th November 2015 at 4.30 pm in Enterprise House, O'Brien Rd., Carlow, where a full project outline will be presented together with a talk from Margaret Hoctor who has over 20 years experience in the Food branding and manufacturing and has worked on projects for brand names such as Bord Bia and Musgrave's building Irish food brands in Supervalu stores through the Food Academy Start Program.
Speaking about the project , Kieran Comerford – Head of Enterprise with the Local Enterprise Office said “this is a great opportunity for Food Entrepreneurs in County Carlow to engage in an exciting project which links the already developed marketing message for Tourism in Carlow with the stories of the many Food & Drink Entrepreneurs in County Carlow”. Comerford continued to outline that the project will include the development of a number of innovative tools such as online video , Directory and image library.
The aim of the directory is to bring awareness of the excellent and diverse range of food and beverages produced in our beautiful County, promote local food brand awareness, encourage the use of local foods by restaurants and allow access to our comprehensive list of producers to a National and International audience, enhancing the message of County Carlow as a premier destination for Food & Drink Manufacturing and Tourism full of Culinary delights. The directory will be launched at a showcase event on the 9th of December which will feature renowned celebrity chef Catherine Fulvio, to be held the George Bernard Shaw Theatre @ Visual Carlow.
