Carlow company, Simply Workflow claimed the top award in the 2015 Carlow County Council – Local Enterprise Office - Enterprise Awards today (26th March 2015). The county awards mark the first stage of the Local Enterprise Office - National Enterprise Awards competition for 2015, which aims to recognise and acknowledge the entrepreneurial spirit and valuable contribution of small enterprises to the economy.
The announcement was made at a special lunch hosted by Carlow County Council's – Local Enterprise Office at the Seven Oaks Hotel earlier today. Minister Anne Phelan TD , Minister of State at the Departments of Agriculture, Food and Marine and Transport, Tourism and Sport with Special Responsibility for Rural Economic Development & Cllr. Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council attended and presented the awards to the winners. Simply Workflow will now represent County Carlow in the regional stage of the competition. Successful regional winners will go on to the national final to be held in Dublin in June 2015.
Simply Workflow is a innovative company which provides technically workforce management system (WFM) suitable for managing all aspects of a mobile workforce. Simply Workflow helps organisations to streamline job scheduling and dispatch for their mobile workforce. It provides full visibility of schedules, jobs, Health & Safety and Risk Assessment compliance with online real time information. The system is a cloud-based web application which customers can access from any location on any mobile device, laptop or PC. By using Simply Workflow organisations can gain improvements in customer satisfaction, while reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Owner manager of the company is Mick Kelly who has developed the project over the past number of years which now has offices in Carlow , Dublin & London and clients across the globe.

Meanwhile, presenting the awards, Minister Phelan highlighted the importance of the awards in the development of business opportunity and enterprise in County Carlow. These, as well as enterprises that are players on the international stage such as Netwatch , Kennan's , Burnside, are according to the Minister "a clear illustration that Carlow is well endowed with the highest calibre entrepreneurs and Irish owned companies that are successful and innovative players in the highly competitive global marketplace".
The Minister emphasised the importance of keeping alive the ability to innovate and identify market opportunities, and create new enterprise. "At national level, it is the role of Government to create the optimal environment, which will stimulate people with entrepreneurial flair to establish and develop their own enterprises”.
Speaking about the awards, Bernie O'Brien, Director of Services commended and congratulated the finalists on their achievements and outlined that they represent the diverse range of businesses in operation in County Carlow today. O'Brien concluded by “adding that they are representative of the County Carlow SME Sector which is creating and sustaining jobs in the Irish economy at
present”.
