NWED 2017 - Open doors to new market

The 11th annual National Women's Enterprise Day (NWED) takes place on Thursday October 12th and the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan, with the Cavan Business Women's Club, will host an evening event, from 6.00pm to 9.30pm including buffet dinner for women from Cavan.

The theme for National Women's Enterprise Day 2017 is "Open Doors to New Markets" and the speakers at the event include;

Marcella Rudden, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan who will host this celebration for National Women's Enterprise Day, supports the potential for growth for business who access new markets through the use of networks.  LEO Cavan supports Enterprise Europe Network and encourages business in Cavan to explore the potential of finding international partners in Europe and further afield.

Mairead McGuinness MEP 

We were delighted that Mairead McGuinness accepted our invitation to attend and speak at the Cavan celebration of 'National Women's Enterprise Day 2017'

Mairead  is the First Vice-President of the European Parliament and represents the Midlands-North-West constituency in Ireland.

As First Vice-President, she oversees relations with national parliaments, in particular with the EU affairs committees of Member State parliaments.

Frances McArdle, Operations Director, Height for Hire who are finalists in the international category of the Ernst and Young (EY)Entrepreneur of the Year awards 2017.  Frances and the Height for Hire team will know if they are a winner at the EY Gala Awards to be held on Thursday 26th October.  Leading an organisation that operates from 20 locations across four countries including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Hungary and Slovakia, Frances is well positioned to give an insight into how Height for Hire opened doors to new markets and will also share with us the process of going through the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards that includes the company featuring in a TV programme.

Brenda Donohue, well known TV and Radio presenter will share her story of how she opened doors to new markets for her career that has seen her work with the late infamous Gerry Ryan and challenge herself on TV's "Celebrity Operation Transformation".  Her RTE radio show "Like Family" that has been running for over a year now will provide for some interesting anecdotes no doubt.
