National Enterprise Awards 2020



Local Enterprise Office Clare is currently seeking applications to identify Clare's best micro enterprise that will go forward to represent Clare at the National Enterprise Awards. 

Celebrating over 20 years, the National Enterprise Awards was first introduced in 1997 to celebrate the contribution that small businesses make to the Irish economy. The aim of the National Enterprise Awards is to showcase, encourage and support a culture of enterprise and entrepreneurship in our communities in Ireland, to promote entrepreneurship and to showcase, encourage and to celebrate the achievement of clients of the LEOs. The National Enterprise Awards competition is open to small businesses that have received financial support from the Local Enterprise Office.

Eligible businesses must be clients of the Local Enterprise Office. The business will employ ten or less staff and be involved in manufacturing or an internationally traded service. Where a business has taken part in the Lean for Micro programme they may employ more than 10 people and still qualify.  The winners will be announced during Local Enterprise Week on Friday, 6th March 2020.  The National Final will take place in the Mansion House, Dublin on the 28th May 2020.

Application Conditions

Applicants must have been in receipt of direct LEO supports under one or more of the following interventions:

  • Grant aid (Feasibility, Priming Grant or Business Expansion)
  • LEO Innovation Investment Fund (LIIF) Support
  • IBYE Support
  • TAME Support
  • Completed a Lean Programme

    All applicant businesses must be current clients of LEO Clare or have transferred to Enterprise Ireland within the last 12 months (after 31st December 2018). All entries must employ ten or less employees employed on a full time equivalent basis as at 31/12/2018, with the exception of LEAN graduates who may have in excess of 10 employees.
