“A Celebration of Success”
CHRISTMAS WOMEN IN BUSINESS NETWORKING EVENT HELD IN ENNIS
Ennis, December 10th, 2015 – Local Enterprise Office Clare held their final Women in Business Network Event of 2015. The event which was titled “A Celebration of Success” was held in The Woodstock Hotel on Wednesday, the 9th of December, featuring Fashion & Media Makeup Artist Sarah Durack and Hair & Beauty Salon “La Vita”. Network members were given an opportunity to network over a mulled wine and Mince Pie Reception which was then followed by structured and informal networking throughout the evening. An inspirational panel discussion was facilitated by Theresa Mulvihill of Smart Marketing Limited with special guests: Orla Meere from Meere's Pork Products, Sallyann Marron from Sallyann's Handmade Bags and Hannah Arnup of Ballymorris Pottery. All three ladies participated in the panel discussion “Celebration of Successes” where they shared their individual journeys as women in business and shared their stories of success from 2015 an introduced the audience with their ambitions for the upcoming year.
Orla Meere from Meere's Pork Products - 2015 Irish Quality Food Award Gold Winner, underlined the importance of family in the business and reminded that “it doesn’t happen overnight”, there is a hard work behind every achievement no matter how large or small. Sallyann Marron from Sallyann's Handmade Bags – spoke about her recent success as a runner up in Bank of Ireland Start Up Awards 2015. She received Silver Award, and highlighted the essence of the diversification in the order to grow a business and succeed in the industry. ”It has been a very busy year at Ballymorris Pottery”, Hannah Arnup stated as she shared her story of success and pointed out the importance of setting and achieving milestones no matter how big or small. Among her successes in 2015 was to have her products hit the high street.
Tess Purcell of Coast Model Agency brought both a glamorous and softer side to the normally business focused event with hair and make up demonstrations from Fashion & Media Makeup Artist Sarah Durack and top stylists from Hair & Beauty Salon “La Vita” in Ennis. They demonstrated how to create glamorous Christmas looks with tips on 5 minute make overs and how to create professional up styles at home.
This network gave members an opportunity to relax and celebrate their hard work in 2015. Working for yourself can be isolating and this event made sure that every network member took the opportunity to reflect on their own personal successes. This event not only provided great tips and tricks from the beauty professionals, but also advice from the network members and three successful businesswomen from County Clare. Every business is on a journey of continuous learning and the women in business network is one way that Local Enterprise Office Clare supports women in business. Great stories were shared, new business contacts made and business advice was shared from peer to peer.
The Women in Business Networking Event was organized by Local Enterprise Office Clare and it brought together formal and informal networking for women already in business and for those planning to join business world in the near future. Local Enterprise Office Clare supports women in business through a number of ways, one of which is the women in business network. The network provides women in business with a forum to network openly, share business contacts, knowledge and experience.
