The 10th Annual Cork and Kerry Food Market will take place in Cork City Hall this year on Saturday 3rd November from 10am to 6pm. The event which is a calendar highlight for foodies is Munster’s largest indoor food market and will see more than 70 food and drinks producers exhibit their artisan produce.

Supported by a partnership including the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) Cork and Kerry, Cork City Council, Cork County Council, Kerry County Council, SuperValu and Bord Bia, the unique food market experience is free and will feature more than 60 exhibitors with cookery demonstrations from Kevin Dundon and The Happy Pear brothers as well as children’s entertainment making it a great family day out.

The 10th Anniversary will also see the addition of an Evening event on Friday 2nd November also in City Hall.  This new event will focus on the region’s craft drinks industry with visitors learning how to pair local produce with craft beers and spirits. The event takes place from 5-9pm on Friday 2 November,  with live music and tastings for over 18’s.

Since beginning in 2008, producers from Cork and Kerry have created more than 1,000 jobs with this number growing substantially since 2013 with the support of SuperValu’s Food Academy programme which gives local producers the opportunity to get their products on SuperValu shelves throughout Ireland. It is expected that a further 200 jobs will be created over the coming 12 months as the region continues to be Ireland’s main hub for artisan producers who are now also building export markets to bring the best of Irish food to Europe.  The Local Enterprise Offices and Local Councils in the South West have supported all of these producers with training, advice, incubation space and grant aid over the past 10 years with over 1,000 jobs being created by the food sector in Cork and Kerry.

Over the past 10 years 30,000 people have attended the Cork Kerry Food Market enjoying the produce of our top artisan food producers and spending over €250,000 on the best of local food. The event is now recognised as the number one place to engage with new food ideas and discover all the best local artisan producers from Cork and Kerry.
