This event is the official launch of the Network Ireland Business Awards 2019. To launch the awards we have prepared an incredible workshop to assist you put forward the best possible version of your business. Catherine Moroney is Head of Business Banking at AIB Bank, Chairman & Non-Executive Director of AIB Corporate Finance and is a Board Member and Incoming President of Dublin Chamber of Commerce 2020. She is also a Non-Exec of the Advisory Board of DCU Centre for Family Business, a former Non-Exec Director of Aviva Health and a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers. Catherine is a member of AIB’s Diversity & Inclusion Board and is responsible for the AIB Women in Enterprise, business owners’ national initiative. Catherine is a graduate of UCD Business School and has attended Cranfield and European Mgt Centre in Brussels. Catherine was awarded ‘Business Woman of the Year’ at the Irish National InBusiness Recognition Awards in December 2018. She also received the ‘International Financial Leader of the Decade’ at the Women’s Economic Forum World Conference in India in May 2018. In 2017 she was awarded ‘Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Ireland’ award from the WXN (Women’s Executive Network).

Adrienne Harrington, Chief Executive at Ludgate. Adrienne Harrington took up the post of Chief Executive of the Ludgate Hub in Skibbereen in September 2017, leaving Dublin after 25 years to move to West Cork. Prior to that, she was responsible for digital and data protection policy in the Department of the Taoiseach (Prime Minister’s Office). As a civil servant for many years, Adrienne worked in a number of Government Departments, as well as being Chief Executive of the Psychological Society of Ireland for a number of years, and spending time in Namibia as a development worker with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).

Adrienne is also chair of the South West Region Action Plan for Jobs Steering Group, appointed by the Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation in October 2018.

She was the founding President of Network Ireland West Cork, and now serves as Network Ireland’s National Secretary. She was a judge in the inaugural West Cork Business and Tourism Awards last year, and prepared Ludgate’s successful 2018 application for government funding which secured almost €2m.

Adrienne has a Doctorate in Governance from Queen’s University Belfast, as well as a Masters in Business Studies from the UCD Smurfit Business School.

Sarah Abbot, Executive Coach at The People Practice. Sarah Abbott is an award-winning Executive and Team Coach with extensive experience in coaching, group dynamics, leadership readiness and human resources.

With over 30 years’ experience in HR, Sarah has had a front row seat at some extraordinary talent transformations in several major corporations, such as Apple, EMC and EY. Sarah spent the last 15 years leading global HR teams to create, stimulate and disrupt thinking, practices and tools on Executive Development, Talent Strategies and Individual Readiness.

A proven business leader, Sarah is known for her energy and down the earth approachable nature – an engaging, authentic and passionate coach who brings fresh thinking and challenge. Sarah's deep and varied toolkit provides a structured methodology, tailored to the individual with the flexibility to ‘dance in the moment’.

Caroline Murphy, Owner of West Cork Eggs. Hers is a story of City Chic to Country Chick really - originally from London, born to Irish parents. In 1999, she moved to West Cork for a maximum of 12 months, she told herself. However, within that time she met her West Cork farmer and married and now has 4 great kids.

In 2009, she bought 4 hens, wanting her kids to know where food came from and to get them involved in the farm. and now has 3,000 ‘happy hens’ supplying free range eggs to a number of retail outlets, including SuperValu.

In 2018 Caroline Murphy, was awarded the Emerging New Business award at the Network Ireland National Businesswoman of the Year awards. Having gone through the process Caroline will share her experience and tips to help complete those submissions.

This event is also the Official launch of the Network Ireland Business Awards 2019. Members of Network Ireland West Cork are eligible to enter the Awards which will take place in May 2019 in Lissard House Hotel. Winners at the local level will be put forward to the National Awards. Last year Caroline Murphy, West Cork Egss, won the Best Emerging Business Award and found the benefits to her business incredible. She will tell us all about it on the night.
