Ciara Clancy, a 26-year-old physiotherapist from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown who developed an app that is transforming the lives of thousands of people with Parkinson’s disease across the world was named as Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) 2016.

As the co-founder of Beats Medical Ltd, Ciara won a €45,000 investment fund through the Local Enterprise Offices after scooping the coveted title at the IBYE national final. Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor, T.D., made the announcement in front of 360 guests at the IBYE national final held at Google’s European Headquarters on Sunday 5th March, 2017.

IBYE 2019 : Competition Overview

  • The IBYE competition is a national competition to find Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur.

  • Applying is simple and there is a €2 million investment fund and targeted business supports on offer to help you turn your business idea into a reality.

  • The competition is open to entrepreneurs between ages 18 - 35 years in all business sectors.

  • There are 3x award categories:-

    Best Business Idea (not yet trading at time of application)

    Best Start Up Business (has started trading but in business 18 months or less)

    - Best Established Business (has been trading for more than 18 months)

    Trading is defined as having derived income from sales of a product or service provided by the business

IBYE 2019 : Prize Fund

  • €50,000 Investment Fund available from Local Enterprise Office DLR to invest in the 3 Category Winners & 3 Category Runner-Up. All county finalists will be invited to participate in an Entrepreneur Bootcamp

  • €100,000 Investment Fund available for the overall National Category Winners
