Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Business Wins Start-Up Award at Ireland’s National Enterprise Awards

Property Button, which is supported by Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, has won the Start-Up Award at the 18th Annual National Enterprise Awards held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin yesterday evening (June 11th 2015).

The Blackrock Company was founded by Jim Urell and Paddy O’ Farrell in 2012 as a hailo-model for the property sector. It automates all tasks that letting agents and estate agents have to do, when letting, buying or selling a property. Formerly known as Property Channel, Property Button was among the 24,000 small businesses supported by the network of 31 Local Enterprise Offices last year.

Following the awards ceremony, Georgina Sweetnam of the Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, paid tribute to the co-founders and their team at Property Button, saying: “It has been a pleasure working with Jim Urell and Patrick O’Farrell over the last year, which has seen very exciting growth in both terms of job creation, innovation and internationalisation. Their business is a great example of the wealth of entrepreneurial spirit which exists throughout our county and we look forward to supporting them in their future development.”

Five other awards were presented on the night, including: MyBio in Kilkenny, which won the overall title and Áine Knitwear in Clare, which took home the Design Award. Vision Built Manufacturing in Galway won the export award (light steel gauge manufacturing) and Gannon Eco in Westmeath took the innovation prize (reprocessing waste into raw materials).

Prizes include a cash prize of €5,000 for the Overall Winner, €1,000 for the four Category Winners in addition to specially-commissioned trophies.
