Our April event will feature a talk by Dr Marie Murray clinical psychologist, family therapist, journalist, author and broadcaster. Marie will speak on the topic of Minding Yourself, touching on all aspects of your life, from your personally, your home life, work life balance and will include tips on how to avoid burnout.

SPEAKER PROFILE
Dr Marie Murray is a Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist and author. She is an honours graduate of UCD from which she also received her M.Psych. Sc in Psychotherapy and her PhD. She is a Chartered Psychologist PsSI and Registered Family Therapist FTAI; Member of the European Association for Psychotherapy and former member of the Heads of Psychology Services in Ireland. Marie has worked clinically across the entire developmental spectrum and in key posts including Director of Psychology in St Vincent’s Psychiatric Hospital and Director of Student Counselling in UCD. Marie’s radio series included On Your Marks and Surviving The Leaving Cert based on her best-selling book of that name. HerLiving Our Times was published by Gill and Macmillan in 2007 and brought out in paperback in 2008 and When Times are published in 2011. She is the Series Editor for the new Cork University Press MindYourSelf Health and Wellbeing series to be launched later this year.
From 2000 to 2003 Marie was a weekly contributor to the Today with Pat Kenny morning radio programme and she was one of the diarists on Drivetime with Mary Wilson from 2009-2010 with her weekly series Mindtime which brought psychological information to listeners. Marie has presented on a number of occasions at the Ceifin Conference, at Listowel Writer’s Week and MacGill Summer School and has lectured internationally from theTavistock Clinic in London to the University of Peking in China. She was an Irish Times Health Columnist for eight years. A former member of the Irish Medical Council Marie is currently Course Consultant the M.Sc in Systemic Psychotherapy in the School of Medicine in UCD.
