What is a mentor?



A mentor is an experienced business practitioner, who can use their expert knowledge, skills and insights to offer you independent guidance and advice.

If you need one-to-one practical or strategic advice, you can apply to your Local Enterprise Office to be matched with a mentor.


What businesses are eligible for mentoring?


Mentoring is open to sole traders, start-ups and companies of all sizes, across all business sectors in the Republic of Ireland.


How much does it cost?


Mentoring is currently free of charge through your Local Enterprise Office, so there are no costs, fees or charges.


What areas can a mentor help me with?


A mentor can give you guidance and advice on areas such as:

                • Marketing & Sales
                • Social Media & Digital Marketing


How does it work?


Firstly, contact your Local Enterprise Office for an application form.  Have a look at the explainer video here.

When approved, your Local Enterprise Office will work with you to select the most suitable mentor from their panel of experts.

You can then arrange the first meeting with your mentor, either by telephone or video conference.
