Social Media and Digital Marketing Workshop

It is increasingly important for small businesses to take advantage of social media and digital marketing. Digital media marketing can help to build brand awareness, increase customer engagement and decrease marketing costs compared to traditional media.

Programme Outline

This one day social media and digital marketing workshop is specifically designed for anyone who is looking for an introduction on how to use social media and digital marketing for their business. The workshop will provide participants with the skills and tools necessary to become adept at using social media & digital marketing tools to build an online brand as well as exploring advanced social media & digital marketing tactics in order to build their brand profile online.

The course will cover:

  • The fundamentals of internet marketing: planning an Internet marketing campaign; top tips for defining tactics; goals and messaging; proven tools for Internet marketers
  • Components of search marketing: how search engines work; the difference between organic and paid search; rules of engagement for affiliate and other networks; essential elements of e-commerce: networks, feeds, payments and stores
  • Best practices in creative development and planning: vital role of colour, design and function; the importance of effective messaging and eye-catching visuals
  • Creating a blog for your business: Using Business Blogs: WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, etc., integration with existing websites; driving traffic through search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC); direct email marketing; writing winning web content; creating viral videos; testing your website
  • Tracking methods: useful tools and tactics for tracking; determining metrics and measures of success; implementing and evaluating tracking methods

On completion of this workshop participants will; Have the skills necessary to make the most of social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, etc Be able to create online profiles for themselves and their business and connect with existing and potential customers Have learned how to take full advantage of viral marketing i.e. referrals from online word-of-mouth Understand the importance of social media & digital marketing and how it can enhance their brand, sales and customer service activities

Learning Approach

This session will be highly participative and relevant through interactive learning, case studies, individual approach, use of hand-outs and audio-visual materials. It will contain numerous examples of best practice as well as tricks and tips to help participants develop their pages as part of an integrated social media marketing campaign.

Delivery style will include the use of trainer presentations, live demos, group and individual work, roleplay, discussions and question and answer sessions.

Course materials will be provided. Please bring along your own laptop in order to participate in the practical exercises in this workshop.
