Local Enterprise Office Galway is gearing up for its 8th annual Local Food and Craft Gift Fair on Saturday the 30th of November and Sunday the 1st of December.

The event at the Black Box Theatre will feature over 50 producers and makers from across Galway city and county.

Admission is free, and visitors can browse through the stands sampling products and getting invaluable ideas for unique, locally-made gifts.

A wide range of local food producers will be on hand to showcase and discuss a wide range of products including jams, jellies, chutneys, cakes, cheeses, vegan foods, juices, and microbrews. Craft makers will display their beautiful creations including handmade ceramics, leather goods, wooden products, household items, gifts, jewellery and much more.

There will be lots of activities to make this the perfect event for all the family. This year, LEO Galway has teamed up with Dee Deegan’s Galway Art Academy. Dee will be hosting drop-in art classes for children, as well as parent and child workshops. The children can create their own Christmas cards and decorations with Dee and her experienced team in a safe setting while parents and guardians enjoy their shopping. All art and craft materials will be provided for a small fee. Booking is required for the parent and child sessions, contact to find out more.

The idea for this event began in 2011, when LEO Galway developed a network to engage with local food producers, craft makers and designers.

There was a need for a large-scale event where local businesses could meet with prospective customers, sell and showcase products, grow brand awareness, and get feedback from customers.

Most small start-up enterprises cannot afford to open and staff their own retail outlet, so this event presents a wonderful opportunity to meet new and existing customers and gain valuable feedback on their products.

The Local Enterprise Office will host the eighth annual Local Food, Craft and Gift Fair on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st of December.

Opening hours are Saturday (November 30th) 10am to 6pm and Sunday (December 1st) 11am to 5pm at the Black Box Theatre, Dyke Road, Galway.

Keep an eye on the Local Enterprise Office Galway social media channels for a sneak peek at some of the amazing gifts and produce which will be on offer.
