Innovative project celebrates business, design and art

An exciting new project has been launched in Galway.

DesignWorks is a first-of-its-kind initiative by Creative Ireland the IDA and Local Enterprise Office Galway which explores an entirely new way of celebrating design.

Five leading Galway companies have been paired with five creators, makers and designers. These designers will take inspiration from their company’s design processes to create a unique piece of art. This project begins a new collaboration between the internal processes of the corporate world and creative world.

Five unique art pieces will be created and exhibited in Galway later this year.

Award-winning scarf designer Niamh Daniels is in conversation with Genesys, artist Tommy Carew is finding inspiration at Mathworks, ceramics designer Tatiana Dobos has begun her creative journey with MetLife, artist Eva Lynch is meeting with Smartbear and Finbar McHugh is exploring the design process at EA Games.

This is the first project of its kind in Ireland and is the brainchild of Caroline McDonagh at Local Enterprise Office Galway and Ricky Conneely at the IDA.
