Oranmore jeweller sets sights on new markets

A local jeweller who works from her at-home studio in Oranmore is taking her business online.

Joanna Cronin set up Peppermint in 2013, and the business has grown from strength to strength in the past six years.

Joanna, who’s part of well-known local design collective ‘Creative Makers Galway,’ creates handmade beaded costume and semi-precious gemstone pieces – offering both ready to-wear and custom designed earring, necklaces and bracelets.

She says the launch of her new website will open the business up to a whole new audience – in the past she relied on trade fairs and direct Facebook messaging to interact with her customers and showcase her product.

In time, Joanna says she hopes to branch out into the US and European markets with her range of Wild Atlantic Way-inspired pieces.

For retailers, Peppermint specialises in limited edition mini-collections, themed around the Wild Atlantic Way and the Irish landscape, comprising 30 designs.

Joanna says the launch of her new website will change the way she works with retailers: ‘The site will allow potential retail outlets to view my available collections, so once they decide to stock my jewellery, they can have it shipped out immediately.’

Peppermint’s new website is now live at www.peppermint.ie
