Prepare for BREXIT

Prepare for BREXIT

In what is being described as "uncharted waters", a period of "turmoil and economic uncertainty for Ireland", the implications of BREXIT continues to be a source of uncertainty for business. While there are many areas of potential disruption, there will also be opportunities. But the challenges and opportunities will remain quite unclear until the EU/UK negotiations get underway.

To help with your initial preparations for BREXIT, Enterprise Ireland have developed some useful resources:

LEO Galway BREXIT Seminar @ the Portershed - 14th June

The Local Enterprise Office Galway is hosting a BREXIT information evening on June 14th from 6pm-8pm in the Portershed with Thomas Hunter McGowan, CEO of InterTradeIreland, who will present ‘InterTradeIreland – get your business Brexit ready’.

Our second speaker will be John Havel, Business Consultant and BREXIT Mentor who will discuss “BREXIT: The six key pillars of self-assessment and their impact on business action plans”.

In what is being described as “uncharted waters”, a period of “turmoil and economic uncertainty for Ireland”, the implications of BREXIT continues to be a source of uncertainty for business. While there are many areas of potential disruption, there will also be opportunities. But the challenges and opportunities will remain quite unclear until the EU/UK negotiations get underway.

Breda Fox, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office, Galway has said “This is the first in a series of events and measures the Local Enterprise Office Galway is planning as Galway micro enterprises prepare for BREXIT. We will be putting supports in place over the coming months to help small businesses identify opportunities and to diversify into other markets. The focus is to immediately prepare for BREXIT but it is good practice to do a complete review of threats for your business on an ongoing basis. The six key pillars of BREXIT self-assessment which John will talk about are:

  • business strategy
  • operations
  • innovation
  • sales & marketing
  • finance and people & management

The impact of these six pillars on business action plans are an excellent opportunity for companies to assess both the threats and the opportunities that BREXIT presents. InterTradeIreland will also present supports and services available through their new BREXIT advisory service now live.

This event will provide a platform for robust discussion, information and practical advice for those preparing for BREXIT.”
