Calling all aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs, we have challenged ourselves to challenge you.


Adopt a global mindset and put strategies in place to scale and reach new export markets.

This course is suitable for people or businesses who;

  • Have a product or service that is capable of being exported
  • Have an idea for manufacturing or have commenced manufacturing a product
  • Are interested in going through an intensive process to validate themselves and their business idea
  • Are interested in attracting external investment/investors
  • Promoters that have ambitious scalable, possibly tech or life science focused projects
  • Businesses can be based in Kildare, Meath or Wicklow


  • A company does not have to be trading or formed to be eligible, early stage ideas can be considered with the right promoter behind it
  • Please consider a standard Start your own Business Course should your business idea be suitable for a local market only

Application Process

Complete an application form and submit a 1 minute video explaining who you are and your business idea

Getting Investor Ready

Finance and financial management

1-1 Mentoring:   November (flexible dates)

Work 1-1 with an industry expert for up to 3 hours on an area of your business which you need additional support

  • Kilian is a very experienced trainer and mentor, having developed and delivered many and  varied programmes since forming Gateway in 2012
  • He has delivered Start up programmes and Bootcamps all across Leinster and worked with 100s  of companies to build scale into their business
  • Gateway are market diversification specialists with a network of associate consultants worldwide, supporting Irish SMEs grow, build and go global
  • Gateway are Business Growth Advisors for Enterprise Ireland and preferred providers for the IDA  on their International Marketing Programme
  • Kilian has is an associate member of the Association Certified Chartered Accounts and holds qualifications in Marketing, Engineering and Training

Feargal Duignan: CEO PacSana


  • Feargal is CEO and Founder of PacSana. Feargal has spent most of his career leading technology teams to deliver high value outcomes for their customers. Feargal has been involved in the technology industry since 1996.
  • He has worked in early stage start-ups, VC backed SAS businesses, indigenous tech start-ups and big brand Enterprise Technology vendors.
  • Feargal has spent much of his career in customer facing sales roles, working as Sales Director for consulting practices, IT infrastructure service providers and major Vendors.
  • Prior to founding PacSana he ran the Dell EMC Public Sector Business on the Island of Ireland across its diverse portfolio from end user devices, to high end storage to Internet of Things (IOT) projects

Denise Whitmore: Founder the Social Media Department


  • Denise is one of Ireland’s best known digital marketers. Listed as one of Ireland’s Top Thought Leaders by Irish Tech News.
  • She has an Honours Degree in Information Technology and Diploma in Digital Marketing.
  • She is renowned for her fresh approach to helping businesses reach new customers using platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and email marketing.
  • Denise lectures on the use of Social Media for Business at national business events as well as in the media and runs workshops on Social Media Marketing all over Ireland.
  • Her advice, training sessions and expertise has been endorsed by some of the most prolific businesses in Ireland including RTÉ, WebSummit and the Mount Juliet Estate

Seamus Murphy: Founder Gateway Consulting and Financial Expert


  • Seamus is an experienced  Business Owner, Senior Manager and Professional Services Advisor focused on helping SMEs improve their business growth and diversify into overseas markets.
  • Strong track record driving the commercial growth of businesses in industry and as a professional advisor.
  • Extensive experience working on strategy, operations, commercial and financial analysis, people management and product review / development with SMEs in Ireland.
  • Proven industry experience establishing a business in an overseas market from scratch and building it profitably as part of a market diversification strategy. Holder of a L9 International Selling PostGrad through DIT along with Train the Trainer and a BA (business).
