The Local Enterprise Office Kildare was officially launched by Richard Bruton , Minister for Enterprise , Jobs & Innovation at Aras Chill Dara on Monday 14th July 2014.
The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) has replaced the former County Enterprise Board that was originally set up by Kildare County Council in 1993. Part of a network of 31 LEO’s , LEO Kildare now offers an expanded service to all budding entrepreneurs and existing businesses in the County . New protocols have been developed with key agencies including Revenue , Dept of Social Protection , Microfinance Ireland and the Credit Review Office to ensure clients have access to all Government supports.
One of the key objectives of the LEO the creation of additional , sustainable employment in Co Kildare . The staff are committed to developing and promoting a proactive , probusiness environment that supports enterprising people throughout the County .
Speaking to a packed audience in the Council Chamber, Eamonn O’Sullivan, Chief Executive Kildare County Council, confirmed his support for the LEO initiative ‘We are delighted to be providing this new and enhanced support for small businesses at local level .By bringing the function of the former CEB into the LEO in Kildare County Council , we are confident that we can provide a more streamlined service to the small business community‘.
