This year's St Brigid's Day, 1st Feb 2023 event will celebrate the achievements of women and acknowledge women's contribution in our community.

It will focus on the transformative and empowering nature of women's contribution to all spheres of life.

February 1st honours St Brigid, the fifth-century nun from County Kildare reputed to have performed miracles and healed the sick. The legend of Brigid stretches back to pre-Christian mythology, when she - as daughter of the chief of the gods, - was a goddess herself, associated with poets, healers, childbirth and inspiration. Originally a pagan festival, St Brigid's feast day on February 1st marks the beginning of spring.

Kildare County Council's Local Enterprise Office chose St Brigid’s Day to showcase women in our society and Kicks off the Women in Business Network program for 2023.

This event hosted by the local Enterprise office on Wednesday Morning 1st Feb , 10.30 am – 12.30 pm in the Osprey hotel  will deliver networking ,superb talks and panel discussions showcasing “trailblazing women who are making their mark in diverse fields such as business and entrepreneurship, and media ”.
