This course will take place online and will provide an overview and a facilitated discussion on actions that can be taken now to mitigate the effect of the Coronavirus restrictions.

 

In recent weeks many Retail businesses have had to adapt quickly to a much-changed market. Most have seen a significant decrease in footfall and sales. This webinar will allow retailers the opportunity to plan in the short term and also prepare for, and ensure readiness to trade again when the current crisis ends.

This workshop will focus on five key strands in retail operations and allow participants to discuss and formulate strategic plans.

  • Inventory turn stock into cash, ensuring that stock loss is minimized, setting inventory controls to ensure optimum stock levels.
  • Channels moving from single channel to multi-channel retailing, customer experience at this time.
  • Finance controlling cash flow, supplier agreements, payment deferrals, state funding supports for staff
  • Communications identify internal/external stakeholders, Marketing, Social media presence, current trading options.
  • Innovation use this time to set in place improved/new means to trade e.g. online presence, inventory controls, retail store layout, re-merchandising opportunities.
