Leading your Small Business Through Crisis

This 5-part action learning program is aimed at supporting business owners to develop core skills in Leadership Behaviour, leading teams, managing remote workers, Strategy, Innovation, and business improvement techniques that can be used to navigate and exit Crisis.

Participant companies will attend 5 highly relevant group workshops, with optional mentoring.

Throughout the 5 weeks, participants will develop a clear understanding of the current business situation, the impact, what actions can be taken, & managing the situation.  

The program will explore how Lean Thinking  can be used to redesign processes to implement Social Distancing and maintain productivity. The program will also cover innovation techniques to find opportunities for the business.

As well as receiving practical skills, participants will benefit greatly from the group knowledge and peer working group.

 


Programme Content:

Session 1 & 2:

The Current Start:  Using the Operation Model Canvas, Each Business will be supported to document the As Is & what is going on immediately in the business and actions they must take.  To do this we will use the POLISM-F Model:

  1. Processes
  2. Organisation
  3. Locations
  4. Information
  5. Supplier
  6. Manage Systems
  7. Financial

Also, within the 1st 2 sessions each company will create an individual digital SWOT along with a  and a group SWOT to leverage the power of the peer network to assist each other.

Session 3

We will discuss how to lead our teams through crisis, exploring key leadership behaviours to effect positive change followed by the impact our leadership behaviour has on our teams and followers.  We will explore team and individual behaviour, discussing team performance and employee engagement.  We will also wrap up session 3 exploring practical actions for leading and managing teams, KPIs and tools whether we are in the office or working remotely.

 Session 4 & 5

Session 4 &5 will focus on exiting crisis and will focus on innovation using the Business Model Canvas as a tool to pivot in our market.  We will learn how to design a business model as a team and then document our own as is business model, focusing on our Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Channels, & Revenue Streams.
