Opportunities for Food Producers during Covid 19

At Kildare and Wicklow Local Enterprise Offices, we are getting lots of ideas and suggestions as well as challenges from food producers since the start of the current crisis.

We thought it would be helpful to get a group together online by video to discuss and share these suggestions and solutions.

With a focus on knowledge sharing and pinpointing opportunities, the session will also feature experts from Supervalu, Amazon and James Burke Associates who will be on hand to handle queries.

The theme is to explore opportunities and allow producers evolve their offer to where the opportunities lie in this time of uncertainty.

Course Outline

• Local Enterprise Office – Update on LEO and other supports in relation to Covid-19 impact in the food sector
• Supervalu – What’s happening at retail level and where might food opportunities lie
• Amazon/Online – With online food sales up 10 fold, the course will feature a speaker from Amazon, who will help us understand where the opportunities are  
• Former Investment Banker, Yvonne Scully will hep us understand “Business continuity, cash flow management and bank schemes” with the latest up to date information
• Food expert James Burke has been working with dozens of producers for the last 10 days and will summarise some of the opportunities and experiences he is seeing emerging with others.
