Lighthouse South East is an innovation programme designed to help companies in the South East become more resilient by structuring their innovation culture to increase their potential for funding for business development activities.

The 2020 business world has changed, and despite the myriad of challenges this has brought the opportunity for successful innovation has never been higher. It has been proven that firms who invest in innovation have higher levels of increased sales, profitability and exports. The Lighthouse South East programme will build confidence and success in a company’s innovation culture by testing their semi-incubated idea in tandem with their innovation capability and its relevance to the marketplace.

The Lighthouse South East Programme delivered by the Local Enterprise Offices in association with Enterprise Ireland is designed to help companies seize opportunity and be innovation leaders. Many companies are unaware of their existing skills in this area and the Lighthouse South East Innovation experts will assess your innovation capability even if you do not have a formalised innovation culture or pipeline.

What does the programme offer?

The Lighthouse South East programme offers specialised innovation mentoring and support. Strategic Innovation Partners’ Laurie Knell and Grainne Millar have over 38 years’ experience consulting in innovation internationally and will assist companies in testing their innovation potential. High potential companies will progress onto further supports from Enterprise Ireland and their Local Enterprise Office.

Who is this progamme for?

This programme is for companies who are ambitious to win through innovation.

This programme is designed for clients of the Local Enterprise Office who have previously received a grant or have participated in a management development or LEAN programme.

Outline:

In Phase One 2 x 2hrs of mentoring from Strategic Innovation Partners Ltd. mentors will establish a company’s innovation capability and potential for funding by answering the following questions:

  • How can they find opportunities for innovation?
  • What are they going to do, and why?
  • How are they going to make innovation happen?
  • How are they going to get the benefits from innovation?

In Phase Two businesses suitable for funding support application will work with Strategic Innovation Partners Ltd. mentors to deliver a pre-development application for financial support for Agile Innovation or Research and Development from Enterprise Ireland.

On completion companies will:

(1)  Have availed of expert mentoring in Research, Development & Innovation

(2)  Received feedback on their potential for Agile Innovation or Research and Development funding

(3)  Received assistance with the Pre-Development of an Application for Innovation Financial Support from Enterprise Ireland.
