Participants will be given an understanding of the cloud software, an insight as to the efficiencies it can provide to a business and how it works.

1. Introduction to cloud software using Surf Accounts and Receipt Bank as an example and why and how it can prove efficient in the running of a business.

2. Run through of Receipt Bank.

  • Demonstrate the system - scan or take a picture of an invoice, the system reads the invoice and automatically identifies the supplier, net amount, VAT & gross amount.
  • Show a practical example of uploading a purchase invoice.
  • Demonstrate how it links up to Surf Accounts.

3. Run through of Surf Accounts.

  • Setting up suppliers and customers.
  • Uploading purchase invoices either through Receipt Bank or manually.
  • Uploading sales invoices and a preview of how these can be emailed to the customer.
  • Posting payments and receipts and allocating these against the invoices.
  • Discussion around nominal codes, what they are and how they feed through to provide information for the accounts.
  • Processing a bank reconciliation.
  • Run through of reports that can be produced: 1. Aged Debtors  2. Aged Creditors  3. Customer Statements  4. Profit & Loss and/or Balance sheet  5. VAT return.

4. Discussion of the time saving impact and improvements that Surf can make on your business.

The course commences on Wednesday 20th March at 6.30pm for 4 consecutive Wednesdays and continues on 27th March, 3rd April, and 10th April.
