The objective of this four half day course is to provide the participants with base knowledge of what is involved in setting up a food business, It is designed to provide the participants with information which will allow them to avoid the pit falls normally associated with this journey.

This Programme will run over 4 half days (9.30am - 1.00pm) - 9th, 12th, 23rd and 26th March and is open to all Start up Food Businesses and Entrepreneurs.

Structure is as follows:

Day One:      Ensuring your business idea is feasible
Day Two:      Food safety and exploring routes to market
Day Three:   Finance and product costings for a Food business
Day Four:     Distribution, Branding and brand building

Outcomes:

  • Knowledge of participants will be strengthened, and they will be provided with tools and templates to validate business idea
  • Participants will have opportunity to network with other food stakeholders at a similar stage of their journey which will stimulate ideas and learning
  • On completion of programme participants will have the skillnet to evaluate their Food Academy idea and identify the next steps of their journey
