LEO Evaluation Committee Membership

The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick, part of Limerick City & County Council, is a first stop shop to provide support and services to help start, grow and develop micro and small businesses in Limerick City & County Council.  LEO Limerick is part of a National network of 31 LEOs and provides financial supports, management development, mentoring and business skills training for businesses in Limerick and is also a single point of contact through which all information on State supports for small and micro businesses can be assessed.

Limerick City & County Council is inviting expressions of interest from persons interested in being appointed to the LEO Evaluation and Approvals Committee (LEO EVAC).  There is no remuneration attached to the position.  The LEO EVAC evaluates and approves all applications for grant aid made to LEO.

In making any appointments to this Committee, the Local Authority will give due consideration to the principles of equality and gender balance, however the Council will not necessarily be confined to those who make such expressions of interest but will ensure that all of those appointed have the relevant mix of knowledge & expertise to contribute to the Committee.

Prespective members should:-

  • Have an extensive track record of assessing financial and business proposals and ability to challenge company submissions; 
  • have an understanding of Local Enterprise Office supports for business;
  • have broad business experience and a clear ability to empathise with challenges facing micro enterprises;
  • have the ability to demonstrate their understanding and experience of the micro enterprise sector;
  • Have expertise in one of the following areas:-

Debt/banking and/or cash-flow management expertise
Equity and/or Investment expertise
Financial and/or business qualification
Technology
Business Development
Marketing Sales.

Completed Application Forms should be sent by e-mail to localenterprise@limerick.ie by 4.30pm on Friday, 16th February 2018.  All applications will be acknowledged and applicants will be informed in due course of decisions in relation to the appointments.

The Council will appoint members for a maximum period of three years in accordance with the provisions of the agreed Service Level Agreement between the Council and Enterprise Ireland.  The decision of the Council is final and is not confined to the applications received.

All expression of interest lapse at the end of two calendar years from 16th February 2018.
