Limerick’s Cotter Agritech hoping for glory at the National Enterprise Awards


Cotter Agritech Limited has been named as Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 in the Limerick Final of the National Enterprise Awards, at a ceremony in the Engine Collaboration Centre on Cecil Street.

Cotter Agritech, an award winning and pioneering enterprise in the Agritech sphere, led by brothers Nick and Jack Cotter, was presented with their award by Cathaoirleach of the Metropolitan District of Limerick, Councillor Olivia O’Sullivan and Helen Ryan, A/Head of Enterprise, Limerick City and County Council.  Other awards went to -  Trackplan Software Limited for Innovation, Pressed Flowers by Nell for Sustainability and The Cosmic Sweets for Best Start up.


The competition is organised by Ireland's network of Local Enterprise Offices (LEO) to give recognition to the contribution of micro enterprises to the National Economy. The annual results of the Local Enterprise Offices for 2022 have shown that LEO Limerick supported companies which created 177 net new jobs in the 12 months to December 2022. This is the ninth year of year-on-year growth in jobs in Limerick with LEO Limerick supporting a total of 305 small businesses employing 1,815 people.


Speaking at the Awards event in Limerick, Mike O’Byrne of LEO Limerick said: "Through our extensive programme of supports, LEO Limerick is the first stop shop for small enterprises in Limerick. These awards provide a platform to local entrepreneurs to showcase their entrepreneurial achievements to a wider audience.  The awards presented here today, give recognition to the individuals and businesses whose entrepreneurial vision and drive, create valuable employment in Limerick and are a vital component in the economic and social fabric of Limerick City and County. "


Cotter Agritech Limited will now go forward as Limerick's representative in the National Enterprise Awards on 1st June 2023 at the Mansion House, Dublin.
