Topic 1: Navigating the public sector market place: we step through the eTenders website to make sure participants understand how they can find useful information that can help them understand where opportunities lie and what they need to do to start targeting the right opportunities.

 

Topic 2: Bid Management – what to do and how to do it: We step through the process to be followed to bid effectively and focus on what buyers look for from bidders. We explain scoring criteria and how to interpret them.

 

Topic 1: Navigating the public sector market place

Objectives of session:

  • Understanding the differences between quotations and tenders.
  • Introduce the data sources and navigating eTenders. 
  • Useful information – previous RFTs and contract award information. 
  • Aware of how to access public opportunities. 
  • Familiar with eTenders website. 
  • Participants understand how they can find useful information. 
  • Public Procurement processes –the difference between quoting for contracts below the tendering  thresholds and tendering for contracts above the threshold. 
  • Introducing eTenders – An overview of eTenders and its functionality. Using eTenders strategically – how to find information about the competitive landscape: contract award notices and previous RFTs.

Topic 2: Bid Management – what to do and how to do it

Objectives of session:

  • To develop an appreciation of what buyers look for from bidders. 
  • To explain scoring criteria and how to interpret them. 
  • Clear understanding of when to bid and why. 
  • Clear understanding of what a good bid looks like. 
  • Qualifying criteria vs. award criteria – the difference between such criteria and how buyers use the criteria.
