This one-day event helps participants who are thinking of starting up their own business to develop an awareness and practical understanding of the steps involved in becoming self-employed and starting up their own business.
Throughout the day important topics such as a business plan, start-up costs and expenses, basic bookkeeping for a small business, books including purchases, sales, and cash, bank reconciliation, business advice, employment laws, registration of a business, wages, marketing, budgets, cashflows and VAT are covered. This course also covers the different allowances and schemes available to new start-ups.
Each participant should walk away with a reasonable idea of whether their business idea is feasible or not. If their idea is feasible, they leave equipped with an action plan to develop their business idea and business plan to guide them through the start-up phase.
A manual of the course content is provided to each participant on the day.
