Building Better with Joanne Hession

Joanne Hession wears many hats … successfully!

She’s so many things all at once: entrepreneur, leader, parent, daughter, wife, sister, friend and simply herself.

Through her business at the Entrepreneurs Academy, Joanne has trained over 40,000 entrepreneurs striving for success. Through her not-for-profit foundation LIFT Ireland, Joanne is seeking to improve standards of leadership and ethics in Ireland, one individual at a time.

She’s built businesses. She’s built teams. She’s built a movement. She’s raising a family. And she’s continued to build her own resilience, determination and strength throughout.

Join Joanne for a fast-paced hour of insights, experience and chat, facilitated by Network Louth member Karen Devine. Put your questions to Joanne in our interactive Q&A session.

This has been a challenging year for us all. Joanne’s energy and anecdotes will LIFT your spirit and leave you feeling ready to take on the world!

This event is proudly planned and delivered by Network Louth as part of Local Enterprise Week 2021.

Joanne Hession

Founder & CEO of LIFT Ireland (Leading Ireland’s Future Together)

An expert in servant and authentic leadership, Joanne is passionate and effective in helping organisations to achieve their business ambitions by leveraging expert training and entrepreneurial attributes. Starting as an entrepreneur following a period working in the refugee camps in Rwanda after the Civil war, at the age of 27 she founded two businesses of her own The Entrepreneurs Academy and QED The Accreditation Experts.  Joanne’s business, The Entrepreneurs Academy has trained over 40 thousand entrepreneurs towards success over 20 years. Currently an elected Council member of Dublin Chamber, Joanne is a specialist in embedding training across multiple people groups (age, public & private sector, etc) through peer-to-peer groups.  She is author of best-selling book “Don’t Get A Job Build A Business” for entrepreneurs.  Joanne is an Executive Director of the largest entrepreneurial leadership training organisation in the world, and last year she was awarded the International Award for Equipping Others for her work in leading LIFT Ireland, an award that was presented to her in the USA in March 2019. With interviews in Forbes and in The New York Times Joanne is Founder and CEO of LIFT Ireland, a national initiative that will raise the level of leadership across the country.  Her many years of experience of working with Business Schools of top Universities in over 16 countries through her business QED The Accreditation Experts, together with her corporate and entrepreneurial experience, has given her a key insight into cultural change models, with LIFT being a key solution in this area.  Joanne is also currently mentoring teams in South Africa, the  Middle East, UK and Australia all wishing to adopt elements of LIFT’s model.

“I have worked with Joanne over the last number of years and have seen, first hand, how she has converted her vision into a successful national leadership movement. She is beyond passionate in her quest to build a better Ireland by developing the leader in each and everyone. Joanne has a unique trait of being able to engage and bring people on a journey, almost despite themselves! She exudes authentic leadership in everything she does and leads both herself and her teams with a compelling vision of success, no matter what the circumstances! Certainly one of the best leaders I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with over the last 30 years.Mick Sweeney, CEO PineBridge Investments Ireland
