Drogheda Business Awards Are Launched


Applications are now open!

The Drogheda Chamber Business Awards 2015 were officially launched in the Westcourt Hotel with President Eddie Phelan, Deputy Mayor Richie Culhane, sponsors, judges and local businesses in attendance.

There is a definite appetite to grow and succeed in Drogheda with so many businesses in attendance.  The awards are open to anyone in Business in Drogheda and the surrounding area and with 12 categories to choose from there is no excuse not to enter.  

Eddie thanked all the sponsors of the 2015 awards for their support of the Chamber and stated “The awards are a great way to critically look into your business, but also a brilliant opportunity to showcase your business.”

This year’s award categories cover a wide range of business areas and sectors. There are some new and exciting categories which are Best Tourism Offering sponsored by Louth County Council, and Hair, Health and Beauty Award sponsored by the Chamber.

Other categories include Best Start-Up Business sponsored by Local Enterprise Office Louth, Micro Business of the Year sponsored by MicroFinance Ireland, SME of the Year sponsored by AIB, The Rotary Workforce Development Award sponsored by IFS a State Street Company, Best Dining Experience sponsored by Oriel Food Group , Best Customer Service Award sponsored by Irish Cement, Professional Services Excellence Award sponsored by IPASS, Sustaining Women’s Empowerment in the Workplace and the Community sponsored by Coca-Cola International Services and the Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by Glanbia. Grand Designs Kitchens and Bedrooms are sponsors of our Red Carpet Arrival, with Boyne Brewery part of the new Boann Distillery as our drinks sponsor upon arrival.  

As part of the evening, the awards Premier sponsor – Indaver [The Environmental Awareness Award sponsored] stated that they are delighted to be part of the awards again this year and excited to announce they will be sponsoring this category. Speaking on behalf of Indaver, Conor Jones gave some advice to those entering, “always aim to be better tomorrow than you were today.”

Padraig Warren, chairperson of the Judging Panel, was also on hand to outline what the Judges will be looking for. Padraig will be presenting a ‘judges workshop’ on the 10th September at 10 am in Drogheda Chamber offices on the Dublin road and all interested entrants are welcome to attend. There is definitely something for every company to enter this year and with many enquiries already flooding into the Chamber Office the competition this year is sure to be exciting! The closing date for entries is the 30th of September 2015.
