2 Louth Winners at the Student Enterprise Awards

In May 2017, Local Enterprise Office Louth had 2 winners at the national finals;

Bláthnaid Murphy of Our Lady’s, Greenhills, Drogheda ,beat off competition from hundreds of her peers around the country to win first prize in the Junior Category in the Student Enterprise Programme 2016-2017,and,

Students from St Mary’s Colleges who came up with Dunopoly, a Dundalk FC version of the popular Monopoly board game, scooped the coveted Best Display Award in the senior category.

Bláthnaid’s business Daisy’s Pawsome Bow Ties supply handcrafted dog bowties and bandanas which are available through Facebook and http://daisyspawsomebowties.etsy.com.

Since launching their Dundalk FC game, Dunopoly have launched www.dunopoly.com, with a wider a range of sports themed board games.

Peggy McGlynn of the Local Enterprise Office manages the Student Enterprise Programme in Louth.

 “Student Enterprise in Louth is going from strength to strength. Numbers participating in the programme this year have increased by over 25%. We now have in excess of 1,000 students in 18 schools in Louth taking part. Dunopoly is a brilliant enterprise and we are delighted to celebrate their success.”

 “The competition was tough at the National Finals,” Peggy concluded “but it is really wonderful to see so many superb young entrepreneurs being developed and supported in our secondary schools.”
