National Enterprise Awards 2019

Building on the success of the previous twenty years of the National Enterprise Awards, which was celebrated in 2018, the Local Enterprise Offices are now launching the 2019 National Enterprise Awards. The awards recognises and promotes the success stories of small business owners from all over the country. In addition to enjoying extensive media coverage, National Finalists will compete for a separate €41,000 prize fund.


Local Enterprise Office Mayo is now seeking applications for this competition. The winner will then represent County Mayo at the National Enterprise Awards ceremony on Wednesday the 29th May 2019 in the Mansion House, Dublin.


Entries are invited from all micro-enterprises that have qualified for at least one of the following LEO Mayo supports:

  • Feasibility Study Grant
  • Business Priming Grant
  • Business Expansion Grant
  • LEO Innovation Investment Fund (LIIF) Support
  • Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) Support
  • TAME Support
  • Online Trading Voucher


Who can Enter?

  • All entries must employ ten or less employees employed on a full time basis as at 31/12/2017.
  • All applicants must be current clients of LEO Mayo (must have received LEO support by way of either Feasibility Study Grant; Business Priming Grant; Business Expansion Grant; LIIF Support, TAME Support, Trading Online Voucher)
  • LEO Mayo clients who have transferred to Enterprise Ireland within the last 12 months are also eligible and previous county finalists are eligible to enter.
  • Previous finalists are eligible to enter.
  • Only those companies in existence for less than 5 years will be considered for the Best Start Up category.


Competition Stages

  • All completed applications received from eligible enterprises by Tuesday 12th March 2019 will be reviewed
  • The overall county winner will receive €2,500, with the runner up receiving €1,000
  • National adjudication takes place on the 30th April, 1st, 7th & 8th May 2018 in Athlone
  • The overall county winner will progress to the National Final on Wednesday, 29th May 2018 in the Mansion House, Dublin
