The Mentor Programme is designed to match up the knowledge, skills, insights and entrepreneurial capability of experienced business practitioners with small business owners / managers who need practical and strategic one to one advice and guidance. The mentor contributes independent, informed observation and advice to aid decision making.  Mayo Local Enterprise Office has recruited a panel of experienced, qualified mentors that provide expert advice on a range of subjects.

Aisling Roche – Provides Marketing Training

Aisling RocheAisling is the founder and Managing Director of ARMS Marketing & Training, a consultancy offering business development advice to Irish SMES. ARMS Marketing & Training are experts in: Digital Marketing, Market Research, Brand Strategy, Marketing Communications, Sales and Business Development.

Aisling is also a part time lecturer in UCD School of Business where she has been lecturing in a variety of marketing subjects, for the past 15 years. She is a mentor on the Enterprise Ireland Mentor Panel and a trainer and mentor for the Mayo and Galway Local Enterprise Offices, Udaras Na Gaeltachta, Bord Iascaigh Mhara and on the Diploma in Digital Marketing module at the Fitzwilliam Institute. She has also been a trainer and mentor on Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Programme for High Potential Start Ups in the West and North West.

Alastair McDermott – WebsiteDoctor

Alastair McDermottAlastair is one of Ireland’s top online marketing consultants and is a regular speaker at business and technology conferences. Over the past eight years he has been working in online business, helping organisations to increase online sales through more effective use of their websites.
He has also co-founded several software, web and information based start up companies including a software development start up which creates software for the consumer market, and online training and educational site, and a nursing recruitment and training business.  He is on the board of several other internet start-ups and has a network of website and online properties.

He is regularly invited as guest lecturer and trainer to third level institutes, including University of Limerick, University College Cork and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. He regularly has mentoring sessions with Local Enterprise Office Mayo clients and runs training courses on how to plan and optimise a website.

Louise McDonnell – 2Market

Louise McDonnell 2Louise is Founder and Managing Director of 2Market, a digital marketing agency situated on the Mayo/Sligo border, specialising in both traditional and digital marketing services and training.  With over 20 years industry experience, Louise has assisted a national franchise build their brand, been the CEO of the local branch of a national not-for-profit organisation and set up the marketing department for one of Irelands earliest e-business organisations.  

Although coming from a traditional marketing background Louise has gained a reputation for her expertise in Digital Marketing particularly in the areas of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Website Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Online Advertising.  
Louise is an active Mentor and Trainer with the following organisations:  Failte Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Offices in Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Donegal and Leitrim,   Sligo Leader Partnership, Mayo North East (Leader) and South West Mayo Leader & Mayo Intercultural Action.

Padraig Considine – PAS

Padraig ConsidinePadraig Considine established Professional Accounting Solutions in 1993. He had previously worked in Industry as both a credit controller and financial controller for a period of over fifteen years. When the practice commenced it concentrated on looking after the bookkeeping/taxation requirements of the smaller businesses and the self employed.

Over the past 15 years Padraig has delivered training and mentoring supports on behalf of the Department of Social Community and Family Affairs, Galway Rural Development and Cumas Connemara Teo. His work with the above bodies involves mentoring and the delivery of both “Start your own business” and “Basic Bookkeeping” courses to people who have been accepted on the Back to Work Scheme. Due to the extensive work carried out in this area Padraig is familiar with the issues and problems these people have to deal with.

Padraig offers training and mentoring services on behalf of the Local Enterprise Office Mayo.

Tom O’Neill – O’Neill & Associates

Tom is a qualified accountant (ACCA) with more than 30 years experience in business management and in the delivery of training programmes.
He has successfully delivered Start your own Business programmes in the past for a number of Local Enterprise Offices in their previous forms of County Enterprise Boards. He delivered these programmes for Laois, Westmeath, Tipperary North and Mayo.
