Grow Remote recently launched a public map of remote employees in Ireland, where Mayo is the 4th most popular county for remote workers. 

There are two challenges in increasing the number of remote workers - one is lack of awareness of where to find employment remotely (as companies begin to advertise jobs with no location, they're not advertised locally) and the second is skills for working in companies remotely.
