This course will help you develop and research your ideas, learn basic business start-up skills, understand potential for business growth, with marketing, sales and financial planning advice.

Start Your Own Business Programmes are designed to support participants in County Meath, to explore their next steps to starting a business. 

You will work collaboratively with a small group of like-minded individuals towards building the skills, confidence and the network you need to succeed as a start-up.  Our expert trainers will guide you through the legal, financial and research considerations required and you will develop confidence by building a viable plan of action.

Who should attend?

Anybody taking the first steps towards Self-employment, or is thinking about starting your own business. Programme open to those that don’t have a concrete business idea.

What will you learn?

Over the six weeks you will be shown the fundamentals of getting a business up and running, ask yourself are you ready self-employed, get to test your business idea, learn who you have to tell about starting you own business and learn how to structure your start-up in a way that will give it the best chance of success.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Starting Up/ Getting Started
  • Identifying, understanding & researching your target market
  • Tax, law and insurance
  • Financial Planning (pricing, costing)
  • Promoting your business 
  • Sales and Service
  • Basic Bookkeeping
  • Developing your Business Plan

 6 week online course - with 2 interactive sessions each week.  (6.30pm - 8.30pm Tuesday & Thursday)

 Upon completion of this course you can avail of 2 free hours of mentoring with the course tutor.
