ACORNS Programme seeking Co Monaghan female entrepreneurs

Early stage female entrepreneurs, living in Co Monaghan , are invited to apply for a fully funded place on the ACORNS programme. The intention is to provide up to 56 entrepreneurs with the knowledge, support and networking opportunities to meet and even exceed their current aspirations.

ACORNS is dedicated to seeking out and assisting up to 56 start-up female entrepreneurs living in rural areas and will run from October 2017 until April 2018. Selected participants will be those who, on a competitive basis, best demonstrate their potential to advance their businesses and their commitment to fully engage in the initiative.

AcornsWho qualifies for the Programme?

To qualify for consideration, applicatiants must be living in a rural area ie all areas outside the city boundaries of Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.
Applicants must have recently set up a new business (no earlier than the 29th June 2015), which they either own or part-own. Those who are not already trading must be actively planning a new venture and have a clear idea of what they want to achieve. If they are not already trading, activities such as organising the start-up team, looking for equipment/facilities, saving money for the start-up or writing the business plan would all be considered as active commitments to starting a business.

There is no restriction on the sector in which the new business is focused. However, the selection process is competitive. Favourable consideration will be given to those who expect to grow their business and to employ others over the next three years.

If you are a suitable female entrepreneur who might be interested in applying for the ACORNS programme, you can access information and register your interest at www.acorns.ie.

Application forms will be sent to interested applicants immediately. The deadline for receipt of completed applications is 22nd September 2017 and if selected applicates must be able to attend the first residential session on 23rd & 24th of October 2017 in Mullingar.

The programme will run from September 2017 until March 2018. Selected participants will be those who, on a competitive basis, best demonstrate their potential to advance their businesses and their commitment to fully engage in the initiative.
