This workshop is free but places are limited and therefore restricted to a maximum of 2 places per business.

This workshop is aimed at business owners/managers/account leads and priority will be given to those businesses with significant exposure to BREXIT impacts. Priority will be given to Co. Monaghan businesses and those involved in manufacturing or international traded services.

Bookings must be made in advance via LEO Monaghan.

Customs Export & Import Procedures for businesses trading with a "Third Country"

Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Offices are providing a series of one-day interactive Customs Training workshops nationwide to support businesses trading with a "Third Country" (Non-EU) in advance of the UK's exit from the single market and customs union.

The implications of Brexit may have been far- reaching effects on Co. Monaghan businesses. The objectives of this workshop is to provide businesses with knowledge and understanding of the potential impacts, formalities and procedures to be adopted when trading with a "Third Country".

This workshop will highlight the Customs facilities available to importers and exporters, opportunities to minimize import duty payments and ensure compliance with customs procedures. It will embed best practice into businesses from across all industry sectors.

Content will include:

Understanding the implications for businesses

The administration process as it relates to import and export procedures with "Third Countries" i.e. countries outside of the EU

Good Classification, Valuation and Origin

Export and Import procedures- Electronic Declaration Process, 'Automated Entry Processing' (AEP), 'Single Administrative Documents' (SAD)

Understanding tariffs and their cost implications

'Economic Operator Registration and Identification' (EORI) and time limits involved in lodging export declarations

Comprehensive Guarantees

Deferred Payments Accounts

Understanding the AEO (Authorised Economic Operator ) process

How to implement procedures that limit exposure to duties and tariffs
