Offaly to celebrate National Women’s Enterprise Day on October 18th

Once again, the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Offaly in partnership with the other Midland Local Enterprise Offices is organising an event to support and celebrate Women in Enterprise.

The Midlands event will be taking place in the Backstage Theatre, Longford with Ms. Marcella Corcoran Kennedy T.D.; Alison Ritchie of Polar Ice Ltd; Ciara Donlon, Theya Healthcare; Louise Lovett, Longford Women’s Link; Dr. Ciara Kelly, General Practitioner and TV, radio broadcaster and columnist; Dr. Anne Cusack, Critical Healthcare, Sinead Hussey, RTE journalist and Barbara Heslin, Director of Services Longford County Council. This event is in partnership with LEOs in Longford, Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.

Sixteen LEO-led events taking place across the country on Thursday, 18th October under the theme “From Local to Global” aiming at inspiring and educating the next generation of female business leaders to take their local ideas and make them a global success.

Orla Martin, Head of Enterprise at LEO said; “The National Women’s Enterprise Day programme has grown year-on-year in line with the continued impact women are having on the world of start-ups and enterprise. This year is no different and the line-up of ambassadors is a who’s who of women that are leading the way in the business world and inspiring the next generation of female entrepreneurs. The ‘From Local To Global’ theme couldn’t be more apt, with ongoing uncertainty around Brexit. Female entrepreneurs should be looking to diversify and know that if they have a business that works, their Local Enterprise Office will give them the support to look at new markets. Last year alone the Local Enterprise Offices provided training, mentoring and networking to over 18,500 female entrepreneurs along with providing financial business grant assistance to over 280 female run businesses and this continues to grow.”

This event is jointly hostly by Local Enterprise Offices in Laois, Longford, Offaly Westmeath and we encourage the ladies of Offaly to attend this networking event.

The fee for this half day event is €15 If interested in attending this event please book via www.localenterprise.ie/longford. Please contact Edel Boyd on edel.boyd@leo.offalycoco.ie if you wish to avail of transport from Tullamore to the event.
