Tourism is a huge contributor to Ireland’s indigenous economy. It provides economic activity in every region of the country. The sector is a major contributor of local jobs. The sector provides many opportunities for new and existing private enterprises, plus social enterprises. Supported by the Government of Ireland, regional and local initiatives are ensuring investment, training, and supports are in place and available to develop and grow innovative great tourism experience provision in areas just like Co. Offaly.

In an exciting initiative, a dynamic tourism business mentoring clinic, spearheaded and run by LEO Offalyis now available. Tony is now going bring his experience by hosting this clinic on behalf of LEO. The central aim of the clinic to assist people hoping to set up a tourism business e.g. along the greenway, canals or mountain biking, provide attractions or activities, etc. It will also be aimed at people who want to expand their own business by including a new tourism product.

Typical areas which can covered during this clinic will be:

  • Trends in Tourism
  • Critical components when considering establishing or growing a tourism enterprise
  • Researching tourism opportunities
  • Understanding Feasibility studies
  • Business planning for tourism
  • Building Income Streams
  • Pricing
  • Collaborating for success
  • Supports available (financial; training; others)

Each session will be of 50 minutes duration and will be delivered remotely.  Priority will be given to participants from Co. Offaly.

The mentor is Tony Ennis of Ennis & Co. Business Consultants.  Tony is also Managing Partner of Advisory Ireland.   He has over 33 years’ experience of enterprise consultancy, advisory, training, and mentoring assignments.

One of the areas Tony has successfully advised, consulted, delivered business mentoring clinics on, conducted group training in, and mentored individual enterprises and organisations on is Tourism.
