Melissa is a Retail Consultant, Mentor and Trainer. She has over 20 years experience working with national and international retail brands including Brown Thomas, IKEA and Kilkenny Design. Through her business, The Retail Advisor, she empowers retailers and Irish creators to reach their potential through sales growth and excellence in customer experience.
Melissa works with established independent retail owners, by analysing the needs of their business. She provides solutions by implementing processes to improve standards across the store, whilst driving sales and ensuring a strong customer service ethos is maintained. Supporting start-up and emerging businesses, Melissa works with a wide range of Irish makers and creators from jewellers to skincare specialists, to enable them to sell to customers and work with retailers. In a training capacity, Melissa works across Ireland and UK delivering Customer Experience and Sales training to customer facing businesses which include well-known high street brands, healthcare providers and the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Melissa mentors on behalf of the Local Enterprise Office, City Councils in Northern Ireland and The Design and Crafts Council Ireland. She is delighted to have recently become a founding member of the global organisation Women in CX, where she represents Ireland on an international level.
