A digital engineering business from Sligo is this year’s winner of the Sligo Enterprise Award for 2022, Local Enterprise Office Sligo has announced.


Conor and Paul Tansey and the team from Tantek 4D took the top prize and will now represent Local Enterprise Office Sligo at the 22nd National Enterprise Awards at the Mansion House in Dublin on the 2nd June.


Tantek 4D carries out an expansive range of services within the Architectural, Engineering, Construction and Operations (AECO) industry, throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe. Combining over 30 years’ experience within the business, Tantek 4D has worked hard to develop its reputation as a business that delivers 4D scenario planning and digital transformation to companies working in complex environments to drive better outcomes on time, within budget, and in a safe and sustainable manner. Tantek currently employs 8 staff.


Tantek 4D will now be competing against 30 other finalists from every local authority area for a share of the €35,000 winners prize fund as national judging gets underway in May. Categories this year include ‘Best Export Business,’ ‘Best Start-Up’ and ‘Innovation,’ in addition to eight regional awards. There are also two new National Enterprise Awards this year with a “One to Watch” award and a “Sustainability / Green” award.


Speaking at the award presentation, John Reilly, Head of Enterprise, Sligo County Council said: “It has been an extremely challenging period for small businesses, so this award is a chance to highlight positive stories and businesses who have excelled in the face of unprecedented challenges. I would like to congratulate Conor, Paul and the team at Tantek 4d, a company we have been involved with from their very early stages and wish them continued success, both at the National Enterprise Awards and with their exciting expansion plans.

Paul Taylor said: “I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Conor and Paul and all the team at Tantek 4D and wish them the very best of luck at the National Enterprise Awards. Their highly innovative business, with its extensive use of technology showcases all that is best about business in Sligo and I wish them continued success in their endeavours.”
