Delivery of the IBYE Bootcamp

Preparation and delivery of a ‘Business Bootcamp’ and Mentoring to finalists in the Co. Sligo section of ‘Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur’ (IBYE) Competition

The Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur(IBYE) is a competition for 18-30 year olds. Interested young entrepreneurs can enter their idea/business under the Competition’s 3 categories:

  • Best New Idea (not yet established)
  • Best Start-up Business (trading less than 18 months)
  • Best Established Business with new add-on (trading for 18 months plus)

Entries received by July 31st 2015 will be shortlisted by Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Sligo, separated into their respective categories and compete for a category prize at County Level.

All selected finalists will have the opportunity to ‘pitch’ their entry to the Adjudication Panel at County Level.

The Panel, which is convened by Local Enterprise Office Sligo, will select a Category winner in each of the 3 categories, and also select an ‘Overall Winner’ from one of the 3 Category Winners.

All 3 Winners will then proceed to a Regional Competition, where the Winner will subsequently proceed to the National Final.

What we require:

As part of the range of supports available to those selected as finalists (max. 15) by LEO Sligo, LEO Sligo will offer a 2-day ‘Business Bootcamp’ followed by a 3-hour (maximum) Mentoring session per participant. Given that the IBYE Competition is a National one, strict time deadlines apply. The initiative (Bootcamp plus Mentoring ) must be completed by:  Friday, September 11th, 2015 or earlier.

We expect that the ‘Bootcamp’ will take the following form:

  • 2 x 1-day Group training Sessions
  • Approx. 3-hour individual Mentoring session(s) per finalist (max. 15 finalists)

Objectives of the ‘Business Bootcamp’

  • To improve the entrepreneurial ‘know-how’ and capacity of the finalists to achieve their business goals
  • To assist the finalists in the review and development of their business propositions
  • To assist the finalists in the development and refinement of their business pitch.

Note the points above are indicative only. We would welcome any suggestions you may have in regard to the exact content, etc. of the initiative.
