‘Building a Business on your Ideas’ Patent Seminar for small business, entrepreneurs and inventors

The Irish Patents Office will be hosting an Intellectual Property awareness seminar called 'Building a Business on Your Ideas' in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) on Wednesday, 8th June 2016.

This seminar is aimed at the ‘small business’ community, entrepreneurs and inventors and is jointly organised by the Patents Office and WIT, in cooperation with Enterprise Ireland and the Waterford Local Enterprise Office.

The seminar will focus on: how business should be aware of and can exploit the value of Intellectual Property (Patents, Trade Marks, Designs and Copyright); and the support structures that are available for small businesses and start-ups from the State and Europe.
Speakers on the day will include David Hyde – Patents Office, Richie Walsh - Waterford Local Enterprise Office, Alan Casey - Patent Attorney, FRKelly, local Entrepreneur David Sheehan - Fastform Research Medical Devices Company, Barry Fennell – KTI, Enterprise Ireland and James O’Sullivan - Technology Transfer Office, WIT.

The seminar will run from 9.15am to 1pm and there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to the speakers throughout the day and after the seminar from 2pm-3pm. Admission to the seminar is free but registration is essential, please register here: www.wit.ie/PatentSeminar2016.
